The Story of Bella Donna personal chef and Catering
The history of Bella Donna Catering in Mary Esther, FL, began early. Donna Hardin's culinary career was inspired by her Polish and Italian grandparents' love and respect for quality and tradition. Her grandfather had an Italian meat market and restaurant in the historic neighborhood of Ybor City in Tampa, Florida. It was populated by thousands of immigrants, mainly from Cuba, Spain, and Italy. Ybor City was and still is ground zero for the famous 'Cuban' sandwich and the vibrant smells of Cuban, Italian, and Spanish culture and food.
In 1972, Donna's military father, mother, and their four daughters found themselves stationed in the Mary Esther/Fort Walton Beach area and have been here ever since. Donna had always dreamed of opening her own restaurant after raising her young family; in 2006, she did just that. She started by opening a small cafe in the old courthouse in FWB and fine-tuning her passion for cooking. In 2011, she wanted to expand her menu to reflect what she had loved so many years before, so she took that leap and opened 'Bella Donna Cafe.' This restaurant was entirely dedicated to her Cuban and Italian roots and a passion for the culinary cuisine she had learned many years before. Donna continued to update her menu and became known for the BEST Cuban sandwich, Ybor City deviled crabs, and Palomilla Steak sandwich in town!
Donna's culinary repertoire flourished after a chance meeting with Chef Jekyll. During this time, she developed and refined her culinary menu and techniques. After closing her business, Chef Donna is focused on her personal chef business and hasn't looked back. Donna is dedicated to creating healthy, delicious food and providing convenient, time-saving services for her clients. She seeks to create by offering personalized recommendations and support while integrating appropriate food choices with lifestyle options. Food is the heart of any dinner party.
